Participants at Florida PACE Centers Westchester were treated to a magical “Enchanted Farewell to Summer” celebration. The site was transformed into a wonderland with themed areas including magical mermaids, graceful fairies, and a special yeti “snow” zone – showcasing the incredible creativity of the Florida PACE Centers Westchester team. The event was filled with laughter as participants enjoyed snow cones and cotton candy, and engaged in fun-filled games to mark the end of the summer season.
The celebration was not only a source of joy and entertainment but also a testament to the progress participants make through their therapeutic activities. As Occupational Therapist Jennifer Saldarriaga noted, “It’s inspiring to see our participants enjoying events like the Enchanted Farewell to Summer after working so hard in therapy. Celebrations like this show how their progress helps them fully take part in meaningful and joyful experiences.”

FLORIDA PACE CENTERS MIRAMAR
Participants at Florida PACE Centers Miramar enjoyed a lively day filled with music, games, and creativity. The group spent the afternoon bowling to golden oldies from the 60s and 70s. Participants also tapped into their artistic side by crafting beautiful flowers from water bottles.
“We are always finding new ways for our participants to enjoy their time at the site, and what makes it special is that they help decide the activities,” shared Rachelle Bazille, Activity and Day Center Coordinator. By involving participants in the planning process, the Miramar team ensures that every activity resonates with their interests and keeps them engaged.

FLORIDA PACE CENTERS HIALEAH
Participants from Florida PACE Centers Hialeah enjoyed a day trip to CiCi’s Pizza, where they feasted on pizza, salads, and desserts.
The trip highlights our commitment to providing diverse and engaging experiences for participants. “It’s nice that we can organize trips like this,” said Lisa Irigoyen, Activity and Day Center Coordinator. “Outings give participants the chance to experience something offsite, which they really look forward to. We’re always looking for new activities and ideas that our participants are interested in so they can stay engaged, active, and connected to the community.”

FLORIDA PACE CENTERS MIAMI
Florida PACE Centers Miami proudly celebrated its second graduation ceremony for the Healthy Hearts program, honoring participants who dedicated themselves to improving their health through exercise and education. With balloons, banners, and various treats, the ceremony recognized graduates who strengthened their hearts, boosted their Heart Rate Reserve, and took meaningful steps toward long-term wellness. For some, it was their very first graduation, making the moment of donning a cap and gown and receiving a certificate of completion especially meaningful and emotional.
Reflecting on the day, Wilkins Melian, Recreational Therapist, shared: “It was wonderful to celebrate our Healthy Hearts graduates. Seeing the pride and joy on their faces as they wore their caps and gowns made the moment truly unforgettable.”

Florida PACE Centers Kendall ended the season on a high note with its “End of Summer Splash!” Participants embraced the warm weather with an exciting lineup of outdoor activities, including water balloon tosses, water squirters, and bowling.
“Watching participants smile, connect, and truly enjoy themselves makes every moment worthwhile,” shared Laurie Gonzalez, Activities and Day Center Coordinator. “Events like our End of Summer Splash go beyond fun – they give participants the chance to celebrate their progress, build friendships, and create joyful memories together.”
