FLORIDA PACE CENTERS WESTCHESTER

Florida PACE Centers Westchester was filled with excitement as participants, family members, and staff gathered for a momentous occasion: Silvia Armenteros’s 108th birthday. A beloved member of the Westchester community since 2014, Silvia celebrated this incredible milestone surrounded by the friends and caregivers who have become such a big part of her life. The center was filled with music, decorations, and joyful energy as everyone gathered to celebrate her remarkable life and the vibrant spirit she brings to the center during her weekly rehabilitation therapy sessions. Silvia credits her mobility and health to her consistent attendance at Florida PACE Centers and staying socially active with her peers.

FLORIDA PACE CENTERS MIAMI

During a special ceremony held on the Miami Jewish Health campus, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava officially proclaimed February 23 as Florida PACE Centers Day. This recognition honors the vital role that Florida PACE Centers plays in supporting more than 1,300 of the county’s most vulnerable residents.

At the proclamation event, Mayor Levine Cava and Florida PACE Centers President Steve Hess both highlighted the program’s impact on improving health outcomes and strengthening the support system for seniors and their families. After the proclamation, Mayor Levine Cava toured the center and met several participants. Over 20 years of compassionate care helping seniors is indeed something to celebrate.

FLORIDA PACE CENTERS KENDALL

Florida PACE Centers Kendall took advantage of the beautiful February weather with a refreshing day trip to Wild Lime Park. Participants enjoyed a change of scenery as they spent the afternoon among the park’s open green spaces and shaded picnic areas, playing outdoor games and sharing snacks together. The outing provided a spirited yet relaxed environment where participants could step away from their usual routine, engage in light physical activity, and enjoy time socializing with friends in the fresh air.

Activity and Day Center Coordinator Laurie Garcia emphasized the importance of these experiences, saying “Outings like this provide more than just a change of scenery; they encourage physical movement, support social interaction, and give participants an opportunity to stay engaged in a relaxed outdoor environment.”
