Florida PACE Centers is more than a health plan and medical care. It is a place where South Florida seniors can share stories, make new friends, and truly feel at home.

The “Library & Dominoes Out Trip” provided a perfect blend of learning, socialization, and leisure. The outing took place at Westchester Regional Library, where participants explored the wealth of resources available to them. Following a guided tour, they enjoyed a relaxing lunch and a friendly game of dominoes at the nearby domino park, making the most of the beautiful weather and great company. The day was both stimulating and fun, offering a refreshing change of scenery from the center.

FLORIDA PACE CENTERS MIAMI
Florida PACE Centers Miami hosted a deliciously educational session on Sweet Choices: Dark vs. Milk Chocolate & Their Benefits. The engaging discussion highlighted the health benefits of dark chocolate over milk chocolate, particularly for seniors’ heart health and brain function. As attendees enjoyed dark chocolate-covered fruit, they learned about the antioxidants, lower sugar content, and nutritional differences between the two types of chocolate. The event proved that making healthier choices can still be a flavorful and enjoyable experience.
“Enjoy dark chocolate in moderation—sweetness for the soul, balance for the body,” said Natali Vega, Assistant Clinical Dietitian. The session was both fun and insightful, reinforcing the importance of nutrition through interactive learning. Florida PACE Centers’ Food and Nutrition Services Department periodically hosts hands-on activities like these to help participants better understand how their food choices impact their well-being. From crafting balanced meals to supporting dietary needs behind the scenes, the team’s efforts were on full display, allowing everyone to see (and taste) their dedication to promoting better health.
